Covid-19 Travel Updates In Vietnam

Hanoi F1 Grand Prix may take place late this year

In a statement on the latest developments on the 2020 F1 calendar, Formula 1 CEO Chase Carey has anounced that the 2020 season is target to start in Europe through July, August and early September, with the first race taking place in Austria from July 3-5. September, October and November would see racing in Europe, Asia and the Americas, finishing the season in December. Based on the announcement, the stage in Hanoi may take place in November.

Airlines allowed to operate at full capacity, end seat distancing from May 7, 2020

Seat distancing and restrictions on passenger numbers on arilines are to be abolished from May 7, 2020. Restrictions on the number of flights between Hanoi, HCM City, and Da Nang will also be removed.

Domestic flights are also increased, specifically 52 return flights on the Hanoi – HCM City route, 20 on the Hanoi – Da Nang route, and 20 on the HCM City – Da Nang route.

Vietnam ends its social distancing campaigns on Thursday, April 23, 2020

Vietnam, including its two biggest cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, have been allowed to end the nationwide social distancing campaigns that began April 1, 2020.

From now, almost non-essential services, shops are reopened. Public transportation such as buses, taxis is operated with a fraction of the capacity, except Ho Chi Minh City which still keeps the suspension of taxis, ride-hailing services, tourism vehicles and passenger buses until further notice.

Though, Vietnam still strictly maintain social precautions & restrictions in public to prevent the spread of disease in the community. All social events, festivals, gatherings of over 20 people in a place and gatherings of 10 people or more are not allowed, except offices, schools and hospitals. A minimum distance of two meters should be maintained between people in public places.

Additional air routes could be operated between April 23 and April 30, including 20 flights per day running on the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route.

As of 23 April 2020, Vietnam goes seven days in a row without new Covid-19 cases, keeping its tally at 268 with all but 45 patients discharged. At the moment, Vietnam will continue to suspend receiving foreign visitors.

Following the permission from the Government, our offices throughout Vietnam are back to normal work from 23 April 2020. All staff are required follow strict hygiene precautions & warnings from the government while working.

As of 21 April 2020, Vietnam has confirmed 268 infected case, in which 215 cases have been discharged from hospitals. The country enters fifth day in a row with no new Covid-19 cases in nearly two months. The Prime Minister said on Monday that Vietnam will ease social distancing step by step and implement adequate controls to avoid underestimating the Covid-19 epidemic. People should remain vigilant because the disease can break out again.

Vietnam is going through the third straight week of social distancing. Everyone are advised to stay at home and all non-essential business are closed. People are allowed to leave home for buying food or medicine and should maintain at least two meters of interpersonal distance, wear masks, and not gather in groups of more than two.

As of 9 April 2020, Vietnam has confirmed 251 infected case of coronavirus.

Important notes:

• Suspension of Vietnam visa and entry for all foreigners from March 15 to Apr 15 2020 (even if they already had the approval letter).
• Travelers still remaining in Vietnam can call +84 378 173371, the ‘Vietnam Tourism Helpline’ for assistance on visas, accommodation, taxis, food delivery, nearby hospitals, embassy or consulate details. The helpline will be available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm (GMT+7) in English only.
• Compulsory health check upon travelers’ arrival at any entry point of Vietnam.
• Compulsory centralized quarantine.
• All international flights to Vietnam are suspended from April 1 to 15, 2020.
• All domestic airlines reduce frequency to one flight a day on certain routes (two way), including: Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City or vice verse, Hanoi – Da Nang, Hanoi – Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh – Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh – Phu Quoc or vice verse.
• Vietnam suspends border crossing to/from Laos, Cambodia over Covid-19.
• All Vietnamese and foreigners in the country must wear face masks in public places. A fine is in place for those found not wearing masks and those who fail to dispose of their masks properly.

Temporary closures

Tourist sites in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Halong Bay, Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An, Quang Binh are closed until further notice.

Covid-19 Travel Updates In Laos

Laos loosed lockdown since May 1, 2020

The Lao Prime Minister’s Office issued a notice regarding the easing and continuation of certain lockdown measures in Laos.The notice, effective from 4-17 May, outlines a gradual loosening of lockdown measures, with certain strict measures to remain in place.

As of April 8th, there have been 15 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Laos. Like most countries, Laos have certain travel restrictions in place. These restrictions vary depend on each nationality.

The issuing of visas to individuals entering Laos from coronavirus outbreak countries will continue to be suspended with the exception of expert and technical visas, and other foreign labor visas that are crucial for major projects.

Covid-19 Travel Updates In Cambodia

As of April 8th, there have been 117 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Important notes:

• No entry for citizens of Italy, Germany, Spain, France and the US for 30 days starting from March 17th.
• Suspend the entry of travelers through waterways.

Travel waterways between Vietnam & Cambodia are shutdown until further notice.

Covid-19 Travel Updates in Myanmar

Myanmar government announced the reopening for hotels and restaurant. They also include all the instructions from ministry to local public it is all in Myanmar.

As of April 8th, there have been 22 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.

Important notes:

• No entry for Chinese nationals.
• Compulsory 14-day-quarantine on arrival for citizens of China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France.

Covid-19 Travel Updates In Thailand

As of April 8th, there have been 2,423 confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Important notes:

• Thailand extends a ban on all inbound passenger flights until 18 April
• Essential travel documents you must carry and submit to airline officials before check-in at the airport of origin are as follows:
• Foreigners: The Fit to Fly Health Certificate which has been certified or issued no more than 72 hours before travelling.
• Thai Citizens: The Fit to Fly Health Certificate which has been certified or issued no more than 72 hours before travelling, and a letter from the Royal Thai Embassy.
